A Beer in Madison WI.
By now you could use a break from the election. So why not think about a place to go for a beer. This weekend I was in Madison Wisconsin for a quick visit and stopped in to the The Side Door Grill & Tap. I was meeting some friends for an impromptu drink and I was told they had a great beer selection on tap. I was not disappointed. The beer menu had more than 30 beers on tap each 16-oz. pour was $5. So, after a quick review of the menu I went with a local brew. Karben4 Brewery “Block Party Amber”. It’s a 5.5 % so made for easy drinking without a lot of kick.
My experience was similar to the listed description, I found it had a sweet start with a light caramel middle and a toasted bread finish. I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. This night I did not try any others, though with 30 beers on tap you have your choice. Also, a good side to go with it was the fried cheese cubes served with a horseradish aioli. It was delicious. More people should use a horseradish aioli.
If you find yourself on State Street in Madison WI and are looking for spot ,this is it. A short walk up W. Gilman from the corner of State and W. Gilman and you are there. It is located in the ground floor of the Samba Brazilian Grill.
I’ve included their information below for the bar and the brewery.
Always remember, “Drink what you like and like what you drink.”
